The UK stop of the Rip Curl Grom Search, presented by Citroën, is ON for 2026.
The search for Europe’s best young surfers (groms) is back — and UK’s top athletes are ready to battle it out at Fistral Beach, Newquay. The surfers are competing for a place at the European Final — and ultimately a shot at the Rip Curl Grom Search World Final.
Spectators are invited to come down to Newquay on Saturday 23rd – Sunday 24th May. Feel the energy and experience the buzz firsthand.
What to Expect
We’re excited to welcome some of the UK’s most talented Junior (Grom) shortboard surfers. The divisions running across the weekend include:
- Under 12 Boys & Girls
- Under 14 Boys & Girls
- Under 16 Boys & Girls

We’ll have some seriously fun activations happening all weekend — including event sponsor Citroën bringing the energy with the C5 Aircross “Pack the Car Challenge” for your chance to win an epic surfboard giveaway. Plus, sponsors I-SEA and Sun Bum will be hooking people up with epic giveaways and surprises throughout the weekend too.
Era Adventures will be on hand throughout the event, so if you need assistance or first aid, please notify a lifeguard or contest official right away.
