We are thrilled to celebrate a historic moment for England’s junior surfing pathway, as the first seven surfers have officially qualified through the Junior Surf Series. The athletes have earnt places at the 2026 Caravan and Motorhome Club English National Surfing Championships, following an outstanding performance at Stop 1 in South Shields.
Earning qualification at this level is a major achievement, reflecting exceptional talent, dedication, and competitive consistency. Congratulations to U12 Girl Kaleia Peres; U14 Girls Ellie Hickie and Betsie Reay; U12 Boys Sullivan Reay and Blake Davies; and U14 Boys Myles Ireland-Craig and Bobby Smith. All have secured their places at the pinnacle of domestic junior surfing.
THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS:
We are excited to confirm that the Under 12 and Under 14 divisions of the 2026 Caravan and Motorhome Club English National Surfing Championships will take place on Thursday 29th October at The Wave, Bristol. The Wave’s high-quality surf will provide the perfect stage for England’s top junior surfers to showcase their skills and compete for national titles. Alongside an epic set up for spectators to get amongst the action.
QUALIFCATION UPDATE:
New for the 2026 season, entry into these junior divisions will operate under a qualification and wildcard-only entry system, marking the introduction of a strengthened national pathway for England’s next generation of high-performance surfers.
This exciting development ensures that athletes competing for national titles have demonstrated the performance level, consistency, and competitive readiness required to surf at the highest domestic standard.
A NEW PATHWAY FOR JUNIOR SURFING – INTO THE DETAIL:
For those securing places, by accepting your spot at the event, all surfers and parents or guardians agree to the event format. Read event format HERE. Please note that policies may be updated where required.

This is a highly prestigious shortboard event on the English surfing calendar, featuring qualified surfers in the divisions of:
- U14 Boys and Girls
- U12 Boys and Girls
HOW TO QUALIFY:
The Junior Surf Series (JSS) now forms a core part of the qualification pathway for the 2026 Caravan and Motorhome Club English National Surfing Championships.
- 50% of available places will be awarded through the Junior Surf Series
- Athletes who finish 1st or 2nd at any of the four JSS stops will automatically qualify
- 50% of places will be allocated via Wildcard Entry selection
Wildcard entries will be awarded in line with published qualification criteria, enabling the Selection Panel to recognise athletes meeting the required performance standards outside automatic qualification.

This enhanced qualification structure delivers a transparent, performance-driven entry process, ensuring the English National Surfing Championships continue to represent the pinnacle of junior competitive surfing in England.
