Eurosurf Juniors European Surfing Championship 2024 Kicks Off Tomorrow in Santa Cruz, Portugal

SANTA CRUZ, PORTUGAL – July 18, 2024 – The highly anticipated Eurosurf Juniors European Surfing Championship 2024 is set to begin tomorrow, July 18, as part of the Ocean Spirit Festival in Santa Cruz, Portugal. The event will commence with a parade through Santa Cruz, showcasing Europe’s top junior surfing talent.

Jamie Wride, the dryrobe Team Manager says: “It’s great to be back in Santa Cruz for the EuroSurf Juniors. It’s an amazing location and we’ve got a really strong team of coaches and surfers. It’s always a brilliant event and we’re looking forward to showing how strong English surfing is at present.”

Running until July 26, this biannual competition returns after a two-year hiatus, promising nine days of thrilling surfing action. The 2022 edition saw Team England secure an impressive 4th place finish with three gold medals (Alys Barton, Arthur Randell and Lukas Skinner) and one silver (Lola Bleakely), setting high expectations for this year’s event.

According to Beau Bromham, the dryrobe Team Head Coach “The team are settling in really well, their confidence is sky high which is shining through in the freesurfs with everyone getting stand out waves every session. It’s super exciting times and we can’t wait for the event to start.”

Organizers and participants alike are eager to see what the 2024 championship will bring, as Europe’s finest junior surfers take to the waves to compete for continental glory.
