Aloha Kakou Shaka Inclusive Surf Club

About
Aloha Kakou Shaka Inclusive Surf Club was inspired and co-created by Aiden, a 25-year-old with a learning disability, autism, and multiple health needs. Aiden’s love of the sea, passion for inclusion, and deep understanding of how isolating traditional services can be have led him to create a club where everyone is welcome and celebrated for who they are. Aloha Kakou means 'We welcome you all - inclusivity'. AKS surf club is designed for neurodivergent people and/or those with a learning disability. Aiden's long-term aim is to teach people with learning disabilities to surf so they can compete within their own category within either Adaptive Surfing or the Paralympics, which currently is not possible, as adaptive surfing only categorises those with physical disabilities. Aloha Kakou Shaka Surf Club is more than just a sports club - it’s a space for joy, belonging, and empowerment.
