Competitor Registration Opens Monday 19th May at 19:00 for the 2025 English Para Surfing Open!
We’re stoked to announce that registration for the highly anticipated 2025 English Para Surfing Open will officially open on Monday, 19th May at 19:00. Hosted at the world-class surf venue The Wave in Bristol, the event will take place on Wednesday 2nd – Thursday 3rd July, welcoming para surfers from across the UK and beyond.
We’re proud to be offering the 9 official ISA Para Surfing divisions, in line with the International Surfing Association’s global standards.
In addition, we’re excited to introduce 4 Open divisions tailored specifically for UK-based surfers who do not currently hold an ISA classification. These divisions are all about growing the community and providing a platform for emerging and established para surfers to experience competition in a fun and supportive environment.
We’re thrilled to return to this incredible venue in Bristol for another unforgettable event.

Surfers from all corners of the globe are welcome—this is a celebration of the para surf community!
Competition Schedule:
- Wednesday 2nd July: 14:00pm – 17:00pm
- Thursday 3rd July: 10:00am – 14:00pm
- Prize presentations will follow shortly after Thursday’s final heats.
Entry Fees:
- ISA Para Surfing Divisions: £50 (open to all classified surfers worldwide)
- Open Divisions: £40 (UK-based, non-classified surfers only)

Try Surfing at Our Para Surfing Roadshow!
As part of the event, we’re also hosting a Para Surfing Roadshow supported by Saltrock at 5:00pm on Wednesday 2nd July. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a physical disability or visual impairment to come and give surfing a go—no pressure, just good vibes. Find out more HERE.
Volunteer with Us!
We’re looking for passionate volunteers to support the contest and help our athletes thrive. Ideally, you’ll have completed Surfing England Adaptive Training or have relevant experience.

Deadline for volunteer sign up: Monday 23rd June, 10:00am
We’ll confirm volunteer places by Wednesday 25th June at 17:00pm.
We will be looking for volunteers to support either one or both contest days, but please be aware priority may be given to volunteers who are able to help on both days if we are oversubscribed. This ensures consistency of volunteers for our surfers throughout the contest.
