One-off opportunity – Pilot Surf Coach Progression award course.
Are you an affiliated surf club volunteer who has a level1 equivalent surf instructor award?
Your chance to certify as one of the first Surfing England Surf Coach Progression award holders.
Applications are now open: We are looking for up to 8 coaches maximum, residing in England (1-2 per region).
This offering will be free of charge and includes,
- The 2-day course 3rd and 4th June 2025, Newquay.
- Travel expenses.
- 1 year coach membership.
- Surfing England safeguarding course.
- Follow up assessment session 2025 Sep/Oct, Newquay.
- Mentoring via an observed session at your club coaching this summer with this award.
To be eligible for this opportunity you would need to be available to complete the course in full, and provide feedback,
- Complete the 2-day course June 3rd & 4th full days.
- Complete a follow up assessment session Sep/Oct 2025.
- Complete Surfing England safeguarding course by end June 2025.
- Coach for your club this summer a course of sessions to improver/intermediate surfers.
We will be:
- Collecting data for Sport England showcasing the successes and impact on you and your club members receiving your coaching since taking this certified award training.
If you are the next generation of club coaches or are up-skilling club members and see yourself making an impact with this, this summer, we’d love to hear from you. Your coaching experience must be minimum 1 season with groups of variety of abilities. Your personal surfing ability should be comfortable in various head high conditions. You should be a current NVBLQ holder.
