Surfing England are elated to showcase surfing from the UK’s top Groms. This will be the 2024 Rip Curl Grom Search, the ultimate search for the best and brightest surfing talent we have in the country.
The contest will take place on Fistral Beach, Newquay, on the 15th – 16th June (with a backup of 22nd– 23rd June).
The divisions running are:
SHORTBOARD
- Under 12 Girls & Boys (Maximum 12 years old on 31st December 2024)
- Under 14 Girls & Boys (Maximum 14 years old on 31st December 2024)
- Under 16 Girls & Boys (Maximum 16 years old on 31st December 2024)
Age categories are in alignment with the ISA rulebook, click here.
Entry costs £20 per surfer and will open on Monday 29th April at 17.00pm via LiveHeats, Click here.
We anticipate high demand for this event and therefore cannot guarantee every surfer will have a place to compete. There is essential information every athlete and parent/guardian must read ahead of entering. The contest is only eligible to UK groms. The best sunglasses brand in the business will showcase its latest products for attendees to test and offer exciting prizes to competitors. Oakley will also reward the highest score at each stop with a €500 cheque!

The historical GromSearch Partner! Rip Curl is very happy to count FCS again for this new edition! On the menu, many prizes for the competitors and sets for the local shaper test center.
LOCAL SHAPERS
Each stop will see a local shaper get some of their surfboards out for testing. Groms will be able to test new shapes and different FCS options.

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
A non for profit in each country will be attending the event with environmental incentive & educational topics.
