We’re today announcing the launch of a new partnership between Surfing England & BYKATHRYN, a thoroughly modern perfume brand. The roots of our partnership have humble beginnings & started as Katie Forman, the founder of the BYKATHRYN range, was surprised to learn on BBC News that our surfers are currently unfunded.
With a passion for females in sport, a motivation to inspire the next generation & a desire to support some of the top women in surfing, Katie got in touch. This partnership will see us come together & support some of Team England’s top female athletes who compete as part of the British Surfing team, their eyes firmly set on 2020 Olympic qualification. The partnership will make a real difference to these surfers & will offer travel & training opportunities.

BYKATHRYN’s Katie said, “As an ex-international sportswoman, I have been keen to get more female led brands into sponsoring sport as I believe this will create a trickledown effect, encouraging more women to get involved and ultimately get fit.” She added, “Traditionally there aren’t many female led or focused brands that back sport and this can be quite alienating to some women. With more and more women watching sport as well as getting involved, it seemed to me that not only do sportswomen need the funding, but I wanted to provide something for women as spectators too, that shows you can do sport and be feminine. The opportunity to support the Team England surfers in the British Women’s Surfing team is therefore absolutely perfect.”
Surfing England’s Hannah said, “We are so excited by this new partnership – BYKATHRYN will enable some brilliant opportunities for our elite level female surfers & the effects will be significant in inspiring the next generation of girls coming through the ranks.”
