EVENT CALL: Rip Curl Grom Search 2019 is ON with relocation to Great Western Beach, Newquay
We are pleased to announce that the first stop of the 2019 UK Rip Curl Grom Search is ON, running this weekend 31st August – 1st September. Due to the lively looking forecast for this weekend we have taken the decision to relocate the event to Great Western Beach, Newquay.
There have been comprehensive discussions between Rip Curl, the Event Manager, Contest Director and Safety officials including the RNLI leading us to this decision. We firmly believe this relocation will give us the best chance of contestable conditions throughout the weekend in order to complete the event. We are excited to be at a new location for 2019 and Great Western Beach are stoked to be hosting us. The location is also the home of NQY Surfing School, one of Surfing England’s Accredited Schools.
Live Scores via Live Heats – Due to the relocation we will be running with more of a mobile situation. We may not be able to use live heats to its full capacity. However, we will still be aiming to use it for scores, progressions and information. The running order is always subject to change dependent on conditions.
