The Natty Surf Jam:
January 1, 1970 @ 12:00 am
The Natty Surf Jam is a one day charity surf festival, hosting a Longboarding Competition at Fistral Beach followed by a night of live music at Whiskers Bar and Venue in Newquay, Cornwall.
The event has been organized in memory of local surfer Nathaniel Loney, who tragically took his own life last year after a long term battle with mental health illnesses at just 25 years old. His sister, Meghann Loney, decided to put on this event to commemorate him and to raise awareness of these issues in the hope of making a positive change within the local community.
The main goal of this event is to raise awareness and support for young people battling against mental health illnesses, and to help them get appropriate treatment early. This year we are working with the local cornish charity ‘The Invictus Trust’ (http://www.invictustrust.co.uk) to help them achieve their goal of installing a treatment facility in Truro.
We also want to represent SOBS <a id="m_-6079459623427828985m_-4297669907833200136LPlnk534354" title="http://uk-sobs.org.uk/
