It’s official — the 2026 Kukuna Pro Junior is ON for the U21 Open (Men’s) and U21 Women’s divisions for Tuesday 26th May!
This inaugural event has been created to showcase the very best U21 surfers from across the British Isles. We are excited to welcome competitors from Scotland, Wales, Ireland and the Channel Islands to take on England’s top young surfers in a fast-paced, one-day competition.
Designed as a stepping stone for surfers progressing from the hugely successful Junior Surf Series, the event aims to help athletes transition towards competing on the wider European and world stage. We hope this will be the first of many opportunities to build the experience, confidence and exposure needed for our top young surfers to succeed at the highest level.
Our ambitions for the future are significant. We are already working towards building connections with other nations to expand the series next year as part of a wider international tour. We are hugely grateful to Kukuna for supporting this pilot event, and we are excited to create opportunities for other brands and partners to join us in helping grow the tour in the years ahead.
Recognition and Development Opportunities
In an exciting new addition to the event, those eliminated from the competition in round one will have the opportunity to sign up for a coaching session on the day run by one of our dryrobe Team England junior coaches.
Prizes for our finalists
We are delighted to announce that all of the finalists will receive prizes from our headline sponsor Kukuna as well as cash prizes for the top three surfers in each division.
1st place winners will receive £250 cash prize PLUS a Kukuna adventurer pack plus Kukuna performance sunglasses.
2nd place winners will receive £150 cash prizes PLUS a Kukuna adventurer pack
3rd place winners will receive £100 cash prizes PLUS a Kukuna adventurer pack
4th place winners will receive a Kukuna adventurer pack
We’d love for spectators to come down, feel the energy, and experience the buzz firsthand — this is Future of British Surfing and an opportunity to see the stars of the future showcase their skills. We are anticipating an early start to action on Tuesday, keep an eye on our social media for updates.
Era Adventures will be on hand throughout the event, so if you need assistance or first aid, please notify a lifeguard or contest official right away.
