U12s and U14s Shortboard – 2026 Caravan and Motorhome Club English National Surfing Championships

We are excited to confirm that the Under 12 and Under 14 divisions of the 2026 English National Surfing Championships will take place on Thursday 29 October 2026 at The Wave. The Wave’s high-quality, consistent conditions will provide the perfect stage for England’s top junior surfers to showcase their skills and compete for national titles.
New for the 2026 season, entry into these junior divisions will operate under a qualification and wildcard-only entry system, marking the introduction of a strengthened national pathway for England’s next generation of high-performance surfers.
This exciting development ensures that athletes competing for national titles have demonstrated the performance level, consistency, and competitive readiness required to surf at the highest domestic standard.
A NEW PATHWAY FOR JUNIOR SURFING
The updated qualification framework has been designed to identify and reward athletes who consistently perform at the top of their age group, while supporting long-term athlete development.

This is a highly prestigious shortboard event on the English surfing calendar, featuring qualified surfers in the divisions of:
- U14 Boys and Girls
- U12 Boys and Girls
HOW TO QUALIFY
The Junior Surf Series (JSS) now forms a core part of the qualification pathway for the 2026 Caravan and Motorhome Club English National Surfing Championships.
- 50% of available places will be awarded through the Junior Surf Series
- Athletes who finish 1st or 2nd at any of the four JSS stops will automatically qualify
- 50% of places will be allocated via Wildcard Entry selection
Wildcard entries will be awarded in line with published qualification criteria, enabling the Selection Panel to recognise athletes meeting the required performance standards outside automatic qualification.
