Walking on Waves Surf School is a well-established surf school based at Saunton Sands, North Devon — one of the UK’s most iconic and consistent beaches for learning and progression. We are passionate about delivering high-quality surf coaching in a fun, safe, and supportive environment for all ages and abilities.
About the Role
We are looking for motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic Surf Coaches to join our team. You’ll be delivering engaging surf lessons to a wide range of clients, helping them progress while ensuring their safety and enjoyment in the water.
Key Responsibilities
• Delivering surf lessons to individuals and groups across varying ability levels
• Maintaining a safe environment in and out of the water
• Reading surf conditions and adapting sessions accordingly
• Assisting with the setup, care, and pack-down of equipment
• Providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming experience
• Working collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth beach operations
Requirements
• Surfing England Level 1 Surf Coach qualification (minimum)
• Current beach lifeguard qualification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience working with groups and/or children preferred
• Availability during weekends, school holidays, and peak season
• Strong understanding of surf condtions
