Surfing England are stoked to announce Radical Wax will be the official wax partner of the Team England Junior Surf squad.
This means Radical Wax will be supplied to every athlete who make up the best, rising talent of English surfing.
Radical Wax is a planet-friendly, eco wax that doesn’t compromise on performance. Kate Richards launched the company last year, with the aim to remove harmful substances from the ocean.
“Our motto is ‘surf today, protect tomorrow,” said Kate, who grew up in Cornwall close to the ocean. “So teaming up with Surfing England’s junior squad makes a lot of sense. We want to see the young surfers of today develop and become the best surfers and humans they can be, and we’re happy to be able to support them on their journey.”
After returning home from a trip to Thailand, Kate had the idea to make Radical Wax, in conjunction with Lemongrass House, a brand known for its 100 per cent natural handmade spa products. It was with their expertise that Radical Wax was born, made from sustainably sourced plant waxes and repurposed natural by products. No fossil fuels, just a wax for your board that is better for surfers and the sea.
Beau Bromham, Junior Team Head Coach said “We’re super excited to have Radical Wax backing the junior squad this season. I’ve tested a lot of sustainable wax options over the years, and honestly, most of them haven’t delivered when it comes to traction. Radical wax is easily the best eco-friendly wax I’ve used. Having reliable grip under the feet of our juniors, especially when they’re competing at the top level, is absolutely crucial. And the fact that it’s better for the ocean too? That’s just the cherry on top.”
Surfing England is run for, and by, surfers. The organisation works with surf schools, clubs and coaches from the top of the country right through to the furthest reaches of the south west. The aim is to help surfers grow from grassroots to greatness. But it’s also for anyone wanting to learn to surf and acts as the go-to resource for accredited training, how to guides and teaching surf etiquette.
