Surfing England is thrilled to announce the Junior Surf Series is back for 2024. The 5-stop series, plus the finale event, is run in collaboration with our Affiliated Surf Clubs and supported by series sponsors Animal and RYD.
The focus of the Junior Surf Series is to provide an exciting introduction to competitive surfing for under 12s and under 14s, working alongside some of the country’s most legendary surf clubs and their dedicated volunteers.
New Clubs Join the Fun
After two successful seasons hosting events with Croyde Surf Club and Global Boarders, and planning to run the event in Tynemouth, but the waves not playing ball, Surfing England has decided to give three new clubs the opportunity to host a stop on the 2024 series.
We extend our gratitude to Croyde, Global Boarders and Tynemouth Surf Co for their invaluable support over the past two years and warmly welcome St Ives Surf Club, Woolacombe Board Riders, and South Shields Boardriders to this year’s lineup of events.

Building the future
The Junior Surf Series continues to grow in popularity, which is a testament to its success. To accommodate increased entries while ensuring a smooth one-day format, minor adjustments have been made to the entry process for 2024.
Spaces are limited, so priority will be given to surfers who have not yet secured a spot in any two events. Entries will open 4 weeks prior to each contest date and close 2 weeks before, with slots offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Mark Neale, Managing Director at Animal: “We’re thrilled to sponsor the Junior Surf Series again this year. Surfing England continues to champion grassroots surfing, enabling young talent from all over the UK to experience competitive surfing. We’re looking forward to watching more future surfing superstars hitting the waves throughout the season.”
Simon Nicholson said “RYD is super stoked to be onboard with Surfing England for the 2nd year, supporting English Junior surfing! We think this stage of young surfers development is crucial to building a love for competing, and most importantly, the friendships these kids form with each other over these weekends, competing and hanging out together. RYD has some fun stuff planned for 2024 to keep it focus on the fun element and stoke the groms out!”
Encouraging Female Participation
In 2023, the series witnessed a fantastic increase in girls’ participation, fulfilling one of the event’s goals to encourage more female involvement in the sport. Surfing England aims to continue this positive trend in 2024.
“We are really excited to be once again working with the local surf clubs to put on this really popular event,” said Phil Williams, Series Lead for Surfing England. “Seeing the growth in girls’ participation last year was brilliant, and we’d like to see that continue.”
The full event schedule and entry details will be announced soon via Surfing England’s channels. For those eager to get involved, entries will open approximately one month before each stop on the LiveHeats Portal
