Contest organisers have made the decision to call the 2022 Caravan and Motorhome Club English National Surfing Championships ON & we are so excited to welcome surfers to Watergate Bay this weekend. The surfing will commence on Friday 6th May and run through to Sunday 8th May (conditions/timings dependent). It’s set to be a thriving contest with nearly 190 entries, surfers competing for champion titles in 16 Divisions of surfing.
Throughout the three days, trained Beach Lifeguards from ERA Adventures will be on hand to keep everyone safe in the water. Contest areas will be marked with different flags, and spectators are welcome to the beach to watch the surfing unfold as surfers battle to claim 2022 champion titles.
We are proud to have so many awesome partners attending the Event weekend. For surfers, friends, family & spectators to enjoy will be:
Caravan and Motorhome Club – attending the event a friendly, bubbly team from the Club, on hand with 2 Minute beach cleaning kits, beach games & the latest club mag. Surfers competing will receive an awesome limited edition tote bag.
Wild West Jerky – our newest partner to the fold, a couple of the crew will have a hub on the beach with opportunities for product sampling (vegan option also available!). Pop down & give it a try!
Cutty Sark – Relax in the deckchairs at the Event site & soak up the surfing.
Red Bull – Enjoy the chill out zone, sample some product & check out their rad new Events Vehicle!
We also have some incredible prizes from our fantastic partners that we want to shout about! The Caravan and Motorhome Club will offer up ferry crossings (4 divisions) & memberships for all champs. The Wave are gifting vouchers for surfs for division winners & for Men’s/Women’s Open Shortboard & Longboard champs a stay at The Camp at The Wave! Alongside this, some handy Decathlon drybags, surf socks, leashes & towels. With their roots firmly from the surf world, dryrobe support with a accessories pack/dryrobe up for grabs. Otherwise for those over 18, korev lager for all top 4 adult categories & Cutty Sark for 4 divisions.
Live Scores via Live Heats – We will be aiming to run live heats at full capacity with live scores and progressions and managing the schedule. The running order (schedule) is always subject to change dependent on conditions.
