Are you aware of the Global Adaptive Surfing movement? Would you be interested in developing your Surf Coach skills? Join us at a free workshop on Saturday 29th June at Fistral Beach, Newquay.
After last year’s huge success of our first Adaptive Surfing Experience & Training (see here), we are stoked to bring you our second training session for Adaptive Surfing. Adaptive Surfing works to build inclusivity in surfing. It enables those who may have a disability, cognitive impairment or mental health problem to enjoy the benefits of being in the sea.
With Team England Adaptive surfers scoring medals on the World Stage (a gold & 2 bronze in 2018, see here), it’s an area Surfing England are pushing to progress as part of their strategy for a Healthy Surfing Community. The aim of this training session is to increase awareness of Adaptive Surfing, to further support its presence and development in England. A unique opportunity & partnered with Surfability UK, we are excited to bring you this workshop. The course will consist of talks from adaptive surfers and practical workshops.
The session will run on the morning of Saturday 29th June at Fistral Beach, Newquay, Cornwall, starting around 08.00am.
Continued support is encouraged to assist Surfing England in the running of the National Adaptive Surfing Open in the afternoon (see here). This event will offer you a firsthand opportunity to put your newly learnt skills into practice, supporting competing surfers from across the world.
This course is free to attend and is sponsored by our partner The Wave.
It will be limited to first come, first serve spaces. We hope that each Affiliated Surf Club and Accredited School can nominate an attendee.
