England Adaptive Surfing Squad Selection Policy 2018
This document has been created to outline the process of selection into the England Adaptive programme during 2018. The squad management team have devised the following criteria for automatic selection into the training squad associated with the programme for the 2018 ISA World Adaptive Games, La Jolla, USA.
The initial squad will be a group of surfers who are then eligible for final Team selection for international events, such as The World Adaptive Surfing Games and others that arise, before the next selection in 2019.
Selection for the 2018 squad has been determined based on the subsequent criteria:
- Automatic squad selection for those who represented England at the 2017 ISA World Adaptive games in La Jolla, USA.
- The four highest ranked English surfers in international adaptive events.
- Finalists in the 2018 English Adaptive Surfing Open.
Surfers must identify which divisions they are classified as in line with ISA Adaptive Surfing classifications and adhere to ISA anti-doping rules. See the links below for further info.

Additional wildcard applications will be accepted up until July 26th 2018 for all divisions. Wildcard applicants will need to submit video footage no older than one year, accompanied with national / international competition results and a personal statement of no longer than 300 words. This will need to be submitted via email to adaptiveteam@surfingengland.org.
NB: Where a surfer double or more qualifies from the selection criteria the next applicable surfer in that selection criteria will be chosen.
All surfers must qualify to represent the English team by fulfilling the ‘Eligibility Process’ outlined in the ‘Eligibility Policy’.
