Team England Adaptive Surfers Announced for World Championships
Surfing England proudly announces the athletes to compete at forthcoming 2017 Stance World Adaptive Surfing Championships in La Jolla, California November 29th – December 3rd.
Following a monumental year which saw Surfing England run its inaugural English Adaptive Surfing Open, the time has come for the English flag to fly high on the shores of California.
The following athletes have been selected to represent Team England:

Charlotte Banfield
Spike Kane
“Surfing England are so proud to attend the event with these surfers, they individually encapsulate what it takes to be a member of Team England Adaptive and collectively can achieve great things” said Nick Rees, Surfing England Operations Manager.
The event will see adaptive surfers from around the globe enjoy days of competition and collaboration, with an Adaptive Surfing Symposium, Para Surfing Experience Day, Adaptive Surfing Clinic, Official Classification Training Opportunity and more thrown in for good measure, further enhancing the positive reach and impact of the event.
Team England has been supported by some fantastic and passionate sponsors, as well as volunteers.
Andy Joyce (Bournemouth) and Matt Harwood (Isle of Wight) have worked closely with Surfing England to deliver the team and will manage and support the athletes in California, alongside Nick Hounsfield, volunteer Surfing England director.

Tuesday 28th November: Team Check In & Adaptive Surfing Symposium
Wednesday 29th November: Adaptive Surfing Experience Day & Parade of Nations/Opening Ceremony.
Thursday 30th November: Competition begins
Sunday 3rd December: Finals day & closing aloha party.
