The visionary team at The Wave are responsible for bringing the world’s first Wave Garden Cove to life, and we keep pinching ourselves this amazing facility is on our doorstep in Bristol.
You may not know, but the design ethos behind The Wave has accessibility at its heart, ensuring everyone can access their perfect waves as easily as possible. This passion for accessibility in the surf began when founder Nick saw an early adaptive surfing event in California and knew we should be doing the same here. 6 years on and The Wave’s support for Adaptive Surfing has seen the Adaptive Surfing Championships blossom into an international event, hosted for the last two years at The Wave and the English National Team rising to 7th in the world.
The Wave is also Surfing England’s first High Performance Centre, hosting training for all our divisions, with particular emphasis on our junior team where the squad regularly train and benefit from video analysis and expert coaching utilising the repetitive and consistent nature of the waves produce to hone their technical skills.
