Covid 19 Update 20-5-2021 Step 3 of the Roadmap
Covid 19 Guidance: Step 3 of the Roadmap
As the country continues it’s journey out of lockdown we reach step three of the government’s roadmap which brings a significant lifting of restrictions for indoor sports, leisure and retail as businesses in all but the highest risk sectors are able to reopen.
Restriction on meeting others outside are raised to 30 people, whilst the rule of 6 or 2 households remains for indoor.
For surfing the main changes are for surf schools and clubs that can now reinstate the use of some indoor facilities:
- Changing rooms and other indoor facilities can open. More than one household can use changing facilities at time, but should maintain social distancing from those outside their household. Use should still be avoided or minimised where possible. There are specific measures laid out in the sport facility guidance
- Club houses and hospitality can reopen, with adherence to the legal gathering limits (i.e. people should stay in their groups of up to 6 or two households) and following the guidance for hospitality settings
- Club events and competitions are allowed to return and are exempt from the legal gathering limits, although they must follow the measures for organised sport participation events as laid out in the guidance for the safe provision of grassroot sport
- The rules around Track and Trace continue and all businesses or clubs with a physical location that is open to the public should be displaying a QR code. If you don’t have one on display already, they are easy to produce following the governments instructions
For more detailed guidance, the full roadmap lays out each step and the conditions required before the next step can be achieved.
