The course is open at anyone over the age of 16 with a couple of years’ experience surfing and a genuine desire to teach others.\nThe course content covers a wide range of surf education including remaining safe whilst surfing\, specific surfing techniques as well as a range of group management and essential coaching techniques for you to use within your new career.Throughout this course you will be assessed\, in both classroom based and practical sessions\, on a variety of criteria including surf venue analysis\, group assessment and lesson planning\, lesson delivery\, practical surfing skills and your own self-assessment.By the end of the course\, you will be expected to demonstrate that your personal surfing prowess is of an acceptable standard along with an assessment of your soft skills in terms of delivering lessons to your peers within the course. You’ll also be expected to show your competency in coaching novice to intermediate level surfers by logging 20 hours of practical tuition with a recognised ISA and SGB surf school such as ourselves. As our first ever online entry we hope this gives you an improved entry experience. \n>>>ONLINE EVENT ENTRY<<<\nKeeping with its traditional bank holiday date but changing its location\, the event has needed to be re-located from Watergate Bay to Perranporth due to the large spring tides expected and the infrastructures need for dry land. In keeping with the precedent of National amateur events\, no prize money is on offer at the event\, the prestige and pinnacle achievement of being the English champion is up for grabs across all nineteen divisions.Entry closes on Monday April 24th at 5pm. Entry is based on first come first served and is limited in each division. Entry into multiple age categories is not permitted due to the large entry numbers and event capacity. Surfers can however enter the women’s and men’s Open division if entered in another division e.g. An under 18 boys or Seniors men’s division surfer can also enter the men’s ‘open’. Equally a shortboard surfer can also enter a longboard division as it is a separate discipline.The Caravan and Motorhome Club provide ideal accommodation for surfers\, the nearest Club site to Perranporth is at Treamble Valley (approx. 4 miles away). The series will see 5 stops across the county and then a series final at a destination TBC!The focus of the series is to provide a fun introduction to competitive surfing for u14s\, working with our clubs and the amazing people who make grassroots surfing activity happen.
