2024 Caravan and Motorhome Club English National Surfing Championships dates announced

We are incredibly proud to celebrate a decade of partnership with the Caravan and Motorhome Club this year and are so excited to announce dates for the 2024 English National Surfing Championships.

The vital funding the Club provides to us has supercharged the development of surfing. The main focus is the advances we have been making around the English National Surfing Championships.

The Club proudly headline the most elite level event in England, which currently runs as 2 separate weekends. A true highlight of the year, we look forward to seeing phenomenal multi discipline surfing action, and crowning its Champions.

For 2024, we are growing our priority event as part of our commitment to increase priority opportunities for surfers, and the development of the judging team. The growth of this event will see an extra day of competitive surfing and including the U16s and U18s shortboard divisions. It is paramount for these young surfers who go on to compete for Team England on the World stage to gain more experience surfing under priority.

For those new to priority, it essentially means that once priority is established, the surfer with priority (displayed using a board with rash vest colours), has unconditional right of way to catch whatever wave they choose. Other surfers can paddle for the same wave, but if the surfer with priority chooses to take it and another surfer is in the way, then a priority interference may be called. You can read a lot more detail in the ISA rulebook here, or we recommend speaking with an experienced coach to learn more!

Another exciting update for 2024, is the addition of further divisions to our 3 day double peak other Nationals weekend. We will run longboard, SUP surf, and bodyboard, as part of a cross discipline celebration of surfing and our community.
