This weekend is looking pretty epic, and we are elated to call the 2023 Caravan and Motorhome Club English National Shortboard Open Championships ON. The forecast has been fruity, with a mega storm hitting mid-week, but our hopes are to lap up the swell that’s been offered up & have a fantastic weekends surf competition.
The contest location is still under discussion with the Contest Director, Event managers and ERA safety cover. All our efforts will be to find the best conditions, and we very much aim to run at Fistral Beach as much of the weekend as allows but have Tolcarne on stand-by. Looking at the swell, some sizable surf will be on offer, so get thinking about your choice of shortboards. Please also safety check your equipment, for any snags in leashes, dings, etc.
As we strive to develop the standards of our English events, we are launching priority rules this weekend. The ISA rulebook is what we use at our events, page 37 onward has detail about priority: view here.
