Surfing England and St Austell Brewery today announce the extension and growth of their partnership which sees Korev Cornish Lager maintain its prime position as the official beer of Surfing England. This new three-year agreement will build on from the success of the relationship which has flourished since its launch in 2014. A relationship which to date has seen Surfing England grow exponentially and achieve its National Governing Body recognition, whilst Korev lager is now a favorite lager through the coast and country.
Through the agreement, the Korev brand will continue to work with Surfing England in its commitment to ‘Support and Develop Surfing England’ and use Surfing as a tool for positive impact. The Korev sponsorship will also form a key part of Surfing England competitions, events and international representation – which is vital as Surfing builds towards its Olympic debut in Tokyo 2020.
Bruce Daniel, Surfing England Director said: “As Surfing England continues to develop and grow, having partners who share in our care and attention for our wonderful sport is vital. We are proud of our long standing relationship with St Austell Brewery’s Korev Lager and very much look forward to seeing what the future brings.”
Jeremy Mitchell, St Austell Brewery Marketing and Communications Director, said: “Our long-term partnership with Surfing England has enabled us to witness firsthand the incredible dedication of the organization, both in terms of developing the sport and its commitment at grass roots and local club level. We’re very proud to be playing our own small role in helping to grow this wonderful sport and look forward to working closely with surfing England over the coming years, especially as we edge closer to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic decisions.”
Korev will continue to enjoy inclusion throughout Surfing England operations as well as being named as the headline sponsor for the 2018 Interclub Surfing Championships alongside its role supporting sponsorship of National and Adaptive Championships. Surfing England will continue to bring the surfing community together, working from grass roots to elite and leading the sport forward, with its great partner, Korev Lager, as good company for the journey.

Korev – the traditional Cornish word for beer – was launched in summer 2010 in a 500ml bottle and on draught in 2011 and has fast become one of the Brewery’s leading brands. It followed a wait of almost 160 years for St Austell to produce its first premium quality Cornish lager. Korev is brewed to authentic methods over 25 days using only natural ingredients and has established a loyal following for its clean, crisp taste.
