Team England Announced for World Longboard Championships

Surfing England and the British Longboard Union are proud to announce the four elite surfers that will represent England at the 2018 World Longboard Surfing Championships in Wanning, China January 19-25.

Following a detailed review of all eligible members of the English Longboard squad, the Team England Longboard selection committee have selected the following surfers;

Management: Robert Green & Bob Freshwater.

These surfers will take on the World’s best at the left hand point break of Riyue Bay located on Hainan Island on the coast of China.

“We are proud and excited to be attending the event with such strong surfers, who we hope will challenge for medals in both individual and team placings” said Robert Green of the teams management.

The ISA World Longboard Surfing Championship, traditionally held as a discipline in the ISA World Surfing Games, was first held as a stand-alone event in 2013 in Huanchaco, Peru.

The team will self-fund to attend the event and welcome sponsors to get in involved and join them on the journey – please contact longboardteam@surfingengland.org for information.
